As a creator I can relate so much to this. You have all kind of creative ideas in your mind, which gives you some form of energy and motivation. But then you face reality and that things are limited and can align with your perfectionism or how you expected it to be, which demotivates you somewhat at the end

I started a complete new game and it crashed way to many time. It keeps crashing every time.

The biggest mistake that made with this game is not releasing as an early access title. People would have been far more forgiving if it had been given that status.

There's some good stuff on the workshop, but the amount of tag spam people do with their uploads makes it hard to find usable stuff. Unless you do what you did, sort by most popular and grab the fist one.

@5:00 of the video that’s another thing I’ve noticed. Some creations are given too many tags so that they appear on all lists despite not being relevant. Y’all find these really aggressive pretty low tactics done by certain mod maker popping up especially in mod search engines for Bethesda games especially those that play on console. And of course as in Syrraels mod this is not the case it’s just the badly implemented search engine that the steam workshop implements. It’s more generic than specific and is clouded but key words, though I would say the title of Restaurant is incorrect as it’s more of a complex that includes a restaurant… So you can be mis lead by let’s call “Thumbnails”

I’ve had a lot a thoughts about picking steam workshop items; Here’s my own personally investigative findings. Y’all find a lot of the most favs are traditionally top just because they’re there first so they would got the most initial looks and likes which pushes them to the top and keeps them there. People naturally will migrate to the favorites list and go along with the most rated. Unfortunately due to these gaming presentation stylistic algorithms., better creations hardly get a look in. What was a favorite back in the early days will remain a favorite now. But if everything was reset with all creations released at the same time you’d find the best of list may genuinely been unlike what you see today. I’ve noticed this In cities skylines, Skyrim, Fallout; Games like this, the evidence always rings true. Like in the cities skylines work shop y’all find a lot of fave Buildings created by a certain creator who’s creations at the time (which are also downloadable for console) gave the player something new and at the time they looked spectacular. But looking at them today they look as vanilla and kinda dull in comparison to what we get in today’s steam workshops and despite this they will remain at the top of the list and are just disappointing. That being said to be at the top in the early days shows just how great they originally were. Also some creations are so generational they rightly remain throughout the annuals of time . I’ve always taken with a pinch of salt when picking fav lists. I mix it up with what’s trending over recents months as that gives a true fav. I also like to look thru newly created items as y’all find some that will just be out of this world but may fall under the shadow of the fave list. That’s what initially the start of your video reminded me of. However I’m not that knowledgeable of Planet zoo but I do know how fav list algorithms work. Anyways I haven’t even seen the video (paused @4:01 to write this comment) Now I’m going to watch the rest and be blown away by the faves list despite all that I know.

Nice idea for a video but it reminds me that the Steam Workshop algorithm is worse than the UA-cam one. The same people get featured over and over again and so many amazing creators never get featured. There are beautiful things there that never get seen on videos like this one because of it.

As I understand it, the amount of burgage plots is what calculates the food need, NOT the amount of families.

16:36 Thank you, I do really curious about what the proper smallest burgage plot to build house (actually addition for my Manor building complex, in my castle). Simply for beautification. I also appreciate your opinion about (single/double housing) optimal use for foods (vegetables/eggs) production. So far I think for eggs production or artisan, even for the goat, the smallest burgage plot with tiny single house (for one family) is enough. I tried it in my previous castle in one of my region. However, yea, for vegetables production, burgage plot with double house (multiple family) and bigger backyards, it's way better.

Hey are you good with TMTK? Because my textures my models keep coming in zoomed in. I put the model into unreal engine 5 and it worked fine. I don’t know if it’s me or if the system is broken. Didn’t have a problem with it before

Totally right about the grid based aspects of Roman cities, although I agree about grid-based usually being a bummer. I think Manor Lords did an amazing job allowing more freeform town building.

Here are some features that would add big changes to the game: Rats and sewege: there should be disease in the game that spreads from too many rats. In small villages it should be fine, but once it starts to grow into town, maybe there should be a sewage system required to make sure the rat infestation is kept to a minimum. These sewages could be connected to water sources (rivers) and make sure it's down stream so people don't use the water from the sewage infested waters. Similar to the system present in Cities Skylines, just with the addition of rats. Sickness and doctors: There should be a bunch of sicknesses that people can have, and even things like losing limbs etc. Old people and children need to be taken care of, etc. A bit like the system in Frostpunk. This would effect the work force, and make sure that doctors have the tools/technologies necessary to save as many people and as quickly as possible. This is medieval times, everyone had something wrong. Holidays: There should be things like national and religious holidays, things like Christmas, etc. And you should need to stock up a bit of food, wood, etc for these events because most people won't be working in those days and enjoy festivities. Also, have the option to make everyone not work on Sundays for religious purposes.

OK I can’t even get the whole Y thing lol you hold way down, and then you swivel the thing, but how do you select it? I can swivel it to find anything I want but it doesn’t select it
